Social disability and what worked well?

As mentioned at www.yoyuu.com.au previously, journalists can develop serious social disabilities due to their craft... and the epidemic has long spread further field to Jo Public.

When you ask question, after question, after question for a living sometimes it's hard to listen to every response being given without mentally moving on to prep' the next questions. It's a mental game, a mental rush to the line. At times the rush of thoughts isn't even noticed by others. But it's there, and it's often distracting the questioner who should be listening. To set a series of conversations up as part of an interview means it's only natural that the mind wanders down the next path, even while it's supposed to letting others progress alone.

By listening to a response to any question we all naturally have thoughts pop into our head... and as a scribe it is a professional (and sadly now social) disability to not be entirely present. It's a battle at times to stay there, on the page, without taking a mental voyage to the next stop before you've reached the one you're on.

By asking open questions - and giving others the platform to respond in any way and in their chosen time frame, in which they're excited to share with you - only then are you able to sense and gather some Yoyuu.

Solution: Ask someone, ask anyone, what worked well in their day, morning, project or class either at your next dinner party, at home or at work and you'll hear something. It's worth asking and worth listening the best you can... the answer may not only inform you but help prepare you too... for whatever the world throws at you next - it'll be there - that's a Yoyuu promise!

The enthusiasm of others is something you can use as your own Yoyuu.... let it help launch your next helpful act. Ask someone what worked well.
